N-acetyl cisteine (NAC)
This the first substance I go to when it comes to healing, for a number of reasons.
- Its the precursor for glutathione, which is the livers most important antioxidant, responsible for neutralizing the huge load of oxidative stress put on the liver by the toxins we ingest on a daily basis, whether intentionally or intentionally
- Its cheap. There are a huge range of powerful antioxidant supplements available, but many are very expensive.
- It has various therapeutic properties such as relaxing the nervous system.
Note: Both NAC and glycine are used to produce glutathione. So its important to take a glycine supplement alongside NAC. They call this combinaton GlyNAC.
Glycine
One glycine supplement is magesium glycinate. This serves a dual purpose because It contains magnesium. Magneseum protects against glutamate excitotoxoity.
